虛假的羽翼
身為戰鬥機飛行員的玩家乘坐在救難船中於海上漂流時，被舊式航空母艦「Endurance」救起。
在母國海軍近乎全滅的狀態下，這艘老朽的戰艦載著避難民眾脫離了戰線。
2029年7月。
中尤聯邦（Federation of Central Usea，以下稱為FCU）受到索托亞共和國的閃電入侵，喪失了主要戰力。
在無法阻止敗走且國土已有大半遭到佔領的情況下，殘存的戰力也已四散各地。
「Endurance」也只是其中之一。
在這艘艦內，玩家被託付了一個名號。
「希孚之翼」──擁有FCU首都「希孚」之名，作為希望的象徵而為人傳頌，傳說中的頂尖飛行員。
然而其名聲卻並非事實。
玩家將背負著「希孚之翼」的名號，與全新的3位夥伴，為了奪回被奪走的土地而再次飛向天空。
逼真的空中動作遊戲
《空戰奇兵》系列，是讓玩家能化身為王牌駕駛員，體驗在追求真實天空的虛擬空間中駕駛戰鬥機自由自在翱翔的爽快感，依據自身判斷將敵人接二連三擊墜、破壞、掃蕩的快感，以及打破艱困局面時的成就感，充滿戲劇性的飛行射擊遊戲
